  • Phase II will add approximately 22% of incremental capacity, or 295 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) to ESENTIA’s existing system.
  • Phase II represents approximately 45% of ESENTIA’s expansion plan target over the next five years, which aims to increase overall capacity of the entire system by 660 MMcf/d.
  • The project includes a US$205 million investment, with a Commercial Operation Date expected in the first half of 2028.

Mexico City, March 26, 2026 – ESENTIA Energy Systems announced today its Board of Directors approved on March 25, the Final Investment Decision (FID) for Phase II of its expansion plan, which will add approximately 295 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) of incremental capacity to the company’s existing pipeline system, increasing the system’s throughput by roughly 22 percent. Phase II is specifically targeted to meet increased energy demands in the fastest growing areas in Mexico, positioning ESENTIA as a regional industry leader in midstream energy distribution.

“Phase II is a continuation of our targeted expansion plan designed to meet the growing demand for industrial development and data center growth in Mexico’s central region,” said Daniel Bustos, Chief Executive Officer of ESENTIA. “This project will ensure our system has the capacity to continue delivering reliable and affordable energy supply to our customers. ESENTIA will continue to take a disciplined approach to capital investment, building upon our successful strategy for the development of Phase I of our expansion plan. We will also leverage our expertise in executing large scale projects to supply the energy infrastructure needed to power Mexico’s economic growth.”

The project includes a series of targeted upgrades to ESENTIA’s existing system, including installing two new turbo compression units at the San Juan Compression Station in Chihuahua and the Aguascalientes Compression Station in Aguascalientes where construction is already underway. Additionally, Siemens Energy, ESENTIA’s strategic technology partner, will conduct additional output upgrades to ancillary services as well as other compression sites throughout our system.

Phase II is the latest step in ESENTIA’s expansion plan, which aims to increase the capacity of the entire system by a total of 660 MMcf/d over the next five years. The project represents an additional US$205 million investment into our system, with a Commercial Operation Date (COD) expected in the first half of 2028.

The expansion plan strengthens ESENTIA’s operational infrastructure and deepens its capacity to serve Mexico’s growing natural gas demand, advancing the company’s strategic position in alignment with Mexico’s national energy priorities.
